Breadboard #4 - Hogan's Vintage Perry 2022, 8.1% abv

This is a truly special and utterly delicious expression of the 2022 Perry pear crop, hand-harvested (by us!), and one which we all keep taking home. We’ve been impatiently waiting for it to bottle condition over the last 18 months, but Sophie and Allen in particular have not been able to help themselves from routinely siphoning off a bottle or two to see how it’s evolving. All in the name of quality control...

The bottle fermentation results in a natural carbonation that delivers a Champagne-like effervescence, and there is a refreshing acidity from the Thorn pears that make up the majority of this blend. A small amount of natural sweetness remains due to the presence of unfermentable sugars in Perry pears, but be under no illusions - this is a wonderfully dry and more-ish Perry.
