Celebrate the First Ever Wassail at Moseley Park with Hogan’s Cider! 🍎đŸș

We’re beyond excited to be part of Moseley Park’s very first Wassail! This new tradition is all about community, celebration, and blessing the orchard for a fruitful year ahead and we’re thrilled to be providing the cider to keep everyone warm and merry.

A Brief History of Wassail

Wassail has a long and fascinating history. Traditionally, it’s a folk custom celebrated in cider producing regions of England, usually at the end of January. Communities would gather to sing, dance, and toast the apple trees, pouring cider over their roots or hanging toast in the branches to encourage a bountiful harvest in the year ahead.

The word “wassail” comes from the Old English phrase “waes hael”, meaning “be well” or “good health,” and the tradition has always been about bringing people together to share joy, community spirit, and of course, cider!

Our Role in Moseley’s First Wassail

This year, we’re partnering with @moseleyfolkfestival, @moseleyparkandpool, @leaf_creative_arts, and @moseleyhive to bring this centuries old tradition to life right here in Moseley. Expect an afternoon full of music, dancing, and crafts, including a performance from Beorma Morris and fun community activities like face painting, headband making, and more.

Why Our Mulled Cider is Perfect for Wassail

And the best part? Our warming mulled Hogan’s cider will be flowing! Made with the finest apples and gently spiced, it’s the perfect way to stay cosy while raising a cup to the orchard and the year ahead. We’ll also have a selection of our bag-in-box ciders for everyone to enjoy, making it a truly festive celebration for all ages.
